The Russian Ballet Academy in conjunction with the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is bringing the allet Fairy Doll in the form of a youth ballet to Gauteng. “Fairy Doll”, originally “Die Puppenfee” by composer Josef Bayer and first performed in 1888, was one of the most successful productions in the late 19th century. Vladimir Issaev’s recreation and revival of this ballet in two acts, was first premiered in 2009 and again in 2012 by the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida with great success.
The ballet tells the story of a young boy who works in a Doll Store that has distinctive dolls from different countries and different kinds and a beautiful Fairy Doll. Customers just fall in love with the stunning
doll.
At the end of the day, the owner of the store closes the shop, and the young and distracted assistant is left alone, locked inside the store. As the night falls, the tired young
boy cannot believe his eyes! The Fairy Doll comes to life, and with her magic, she brings all the toys of the store to life.

Mr. Vladimir Issaev, Ballet Master, Choreographer & Artistic Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of lorida will be presenting master classes (Classical Ballet) in Pretoria from 12 to 19 March.
The master
classes will also serve as auditions to select dancers for the production that will take place later in 2019.
Dancers from the age of 7 and up, wishing to participate in the production of Fairy Doll, or
simply wanting to sharpen their ballet skills a are invited to join the master classes that will take place during masterclasses.
